The Old Dominion offense out gained Georgia Southern 551-249 on Saturday
Old Dominion traveled to Statesboro, Ga. over the weekend and defeated Georgia Southern 45-10. The win gave the Monarchs their eighth win of the season, something an ODU team hasn’t done since 2016. This was one of ODU’s most dominant efforts all season and added to an impressive season from Ricky Rahne’s squad.
The scoring for ODU started quickly. A one minute drive gave the Monarchs good field position after an interception. The drive was capped off by a Ke’Travion Hargrove one-yard touchdown run to make it 7-0. Later in the first quarter, Devin Roche had an explosive 21-yard touchdown run to give ODU the two score lead.

ODU’s 45-10 victory was another impressive win in their last three games. In those games, ODU has outscored opponents 109-16.
After another disappointing loss for the Eagles, questions have been raised from the fanbase on decisions needing to be made during the offseason. The Eagles defense has been a constant struggle as they are giving up over 35 points-per-game average this season.
The offense wasn’t much better for the Eagles though, securing only 13 first downs for the game. JC French also had arguably his worst game of the season, with only 147 passing yards and an interception. Marcus Sanders Jr. was a bright spot with 88 receiving yards. Wide receivers, Sanders and Camden Brown have been constant high points for the Eagles all season.
