Dorion Strawn First Team All-Sun Belt
On Dec. 4, the Sun Belt Conference announced its all-conference teams and postseason awards. Sun Belt Syndicate is highlighting each Texas State player recognized by the league, starting with redshirt senior offensive lineman Dorion Strawn of Ennis, Texas.
Strawn entering the season as a preseason First Team All-Sun Belt selection by Phil Steele and Athlon Sports.
He is completing his third and final season with the Bobcats after transferring from Incarnate Word, where he spent two seasons, including a 2021 redshirt year after appearing in one game. While at UIW, he helped protect quarterback Lindsey Scott Jr., the 2022 Walter Payton Award winner as the top offensive player in the FCS.
Strawn was one of five offensive linemen who followed head coach GJ Kinne to Texas State.
The 2025 season marked his second straight year anchoring an offensive line that powered one of the nation’s top offenses. After ranking fifth nationally in 2024, the Bobcats averaged 475.8 yards per game this season — eighth in the FBS and first in the Sun Belt.
Texas State also averaged 36.1 points per game, ranking 17th nationally and second in the conference behind James Madison. Strawn helped open lanes in the run game as well, with the Bobcats posting 220.5 rushing yards per game, third in the Sun Belt behind JMU and Old Dominion.
First down were a major part of Texas State’s offensive success, and Strawn played a key role. The Bobcats recorded 276 first downs, averaging 23 per game.
Quarterback Brad Jackson was sacked 24 times — an average of two per game– for a loss of 131 total yards.
Thanks to his performance, Strawn earned a spot on the All-Sun Belt First Team. He became the first — and with Texas State moving to the Pac-12 next season, the only — offensive lineman in program history to earn first-team honors.
Across the first, second and third teams, Strawn is just the sixth Texas State offensive lineman to receive all-conference recognition during the school’s Sun Belt membership from 2013 to 2025.
