The Eagles return to Statesboro for their home opener against UNC Asheville on Nov. 8
The Georgia Southern Eagles enter the 2025–26 season looking to climb back toward the top half of the Sun Belt under third-year head coach Charlie Henry. After a struggling year two, Henry will look to get back to how they finished in year one.

Non-Conference
Georgia Southern opens its season on Nov. 4, traveling to Greenville to take on East Carolina. They return to Statesboro for their home opener against UNC Asheville on Nov. 8.
Just three days later, the team heads south to Florida Gulf Coast (Nov. 11) for what should be another early challenge before returning home to host Johnson C. Smith three days later.
The Eagles will face back-to-back ACC opponents, beginning with Georgia Tech (Nov. 18) in Atlanta and Florida State (Nov. 21) in Tallahassee. Both will be very tough games, but will provide valuable experience against high-level competition.
The team then travels to Jacksonville for the Jacksonville Classic (Nov. 24–25), where they’ll take on Youngstown State and UTSA in consecutive days. The Eagles will return home to face Houston Christian (Nov. 29) before opening December with a matchup against future Sun Belt opponent Louisiana Tech on Dec. 3.
After a quick trip to Gardner–Webb (Dec. 6), Georgia Southern will close out their home non-conference schedule against Coastal Georgia on Dec. 11. They will then head to West Georgia two days after.
Unlike the rest of the league, Georgia Southern will not participate in this season’s MAC–SBC Challenge.
Conference
Their conference schedule kicks off on Dec. 18 taking on in-state rival Georgia State, before taking on James Madison two days later. They’ll then ring in the new year on the road, facing Coastal Carolina (Jan. 1) before heading north to Old Dominion (Jan. 3).
After that, Georgia Southern stays on the road for one more game, visiting South Alabama (Jan. 10). The Eagles then return to Statesboro for a critical four-game homestand. They’ll host Old Dominion (Jan. 15), Coastal Carolina (Jan. 17), Arkansas State (Jan. 22), and Troy (Jan. 24).
To end January, Georgia Southern will travel west to face ULM (Jan. 29) and Louisiana (Jan. 31). This has often been a tough stretch for conference opponents, no matter how good the Louisiana schools are.
February begins back in Statesboro, with the Eagles hosting Texas State (Feb. 7). The Eagles will then take on rival App State (Feb. 11) and Marshall (Feb. 14) in what will be their final home games of the regular season.
Georgia Southern finishes the regular season with its longest and toughest road stretch of the year. They’ll visit Georgia State (Feb. 19), travel to Boone to face App State (Feb. 21), then head north to take on James Madison (Feb. 25) and Marshall (Feb. 27).
Georgia Southern will need consistency to contend in 2025–26. If the Eagles can build early chemistry in non-conference play and take care of business at home in the Sun Belt, they could make noise in Pensacola in early March in the Sun Belt Tournament.
