ULM quarterback Aidan Armenta pulled the Warhawks within 10 points later in the fourth with a 12-yard touchdown run. He finished 19-of-26 for 166 yards.
Defensively, ULM’s Noah Flemmings led all players with 13 tackles and contributed to one of the Warhawks’ two sacks. He set career highs in solo and total tackles for the second straight week.
Texas State’s Treylin Payne recorded nine tackles, including one for loss, bringing his season total to 98. He has posted eight or more tackles in seven games, including a career-high 24 against Marshall.
The win kept Texas State’s bowl hopes alive. The Bobcats must beat South Alabama in their final Sun Belt game next week to reach the six-win threshold. The Jaguars, eliminated from bowl contention after a Nov. 1 loss to Louisiana, will look to end their season on a three-game winning streak.
ULM will travel to Lafayette, Louisiana to face against rival Louisiana in the “Battle of the Bayou.” The Warhawks extended their bowl drought to 13 seasons, tied with UMass for the longest active streak. Louisiana enters at 5-6 and also needs one more win for bowl eligibility — a situation shared by five other Sun Belt teams heading into the regular-season finale, including Texas State.
